May Is Tax Adjustment Month

Although we try to address all opportunities to decrease the tax obligation, in the tax season rush, sometimes medical expenses can be overlooked.

Did you miss any of these medical expenses?

  • attendant or nursing home care
  • ambulance fees
  • eyeglasses and contact lenses
  • cost of training a person to provide care for an infirm dependant
  • costs of hearing aids and their batteries
  • costs for medical marijuana or marijuana seeds purchased from Health Canada, or a licensed person under Marijuana Medical Access Regulations (MMAR)
  • therapy provided by a medical doctor, psychologist or occupational therapist for a patient who qualifies for the Disability Amount
  • tutoring services for a patient with a learning disability or mental impairment
  • private health plan premiums, including group insurance premiums,
  • Blue Cross premiums including travel insurance costs

An adjustment can be made to a filed tax return using Form T1ADJ.
